Facebook – What do you think?
With over 500 million active users around the whole world, Facebook is probably without a doubt, the most universally recognised social networking site on the planet. Obviously MrTWS dot com, the universally accepted answer everywhere, does not boast its viewing or active figures, but it’s good to see Facebook is at least trying!!!
On a serious note (that is if the talkback subject allows it), we would like to ask YOU what you think about Facebook? I mean do we really care if in July 2010 details of 100 million users were collected and then published outside of the Facebook environment according to the BBC who published this article. That only equates to 20% if you like percentages.
People love Facebook. They love being able to interact with other people, catch up with old friends that they have never spoke to for years, tell the world about their love life, their family problems, the kids, the holidays that they are planning to take, and so the list goes on. Often people will update their profiles quicker than that, when say they split up. One minute they are hopelessly in love with their partner, the next they are interested in men (or women) and having a shit time and looking for something new. Sometimes, if the ex-partner is lucky, they may have already been told this face to face, but often it is easier to tell the whole world your sorry problems than it is to have a heart to heart with the one you love. I’m not speaking from personal experience here, just know of people who have done this.
Of course there is always the random comments thrown in such as:
“I’m bored….”
“This is shit….”
“This sucks….”
Take your pick – you will know what I mean. And then there is the apparent lack of being able to actually type coherently, but I guess that is what comes from a generation of people who think mobile phones and predictive text methods work on Facebook too.
So what is it about Facebook that you like, or dislike?
I could list quite a few things that I don’t particularly like about it, but then I might only be talking back to myself.
